The insecurity of not being good enough

Insecurities are all about being not safe. They can arise from a multitude of reasons such as work, relationships, how we perceive our body image, finances, health, wealth.
We worry that we will fail, that we don't do enough, whether people like us, make fun of us, we worry whether we will be loved and accepted as we are. To deal with our insecurities we come up with so many ways of being, acting, pretending, manipulating.
We call this life.
We can be so invested in being someone else that over time we lose our whole identity and become someone else, not remembering who we are anymore. We are of course also influenced by the world through media with its culture of getting enough likes and retweets looking for approval.
Approval creates dependency, propels our insecurities even further while altering our personality.
Often our insecurities start in our childhood when frequently our already insecure parents, teachers tell us how not good enough we are, how not important we are, how lazy we are, how slow we are, what we deserve, and what we don't. We learn to try hard, to please, creating a negative self-image, lacking trust in Self.
Just like a beautiful painting in a frame, we are so focused on the frame we forget about the masterpiece. We gain the world but forget the soul.
Breaking from insecurities is to recognize them first. It is like a treasure hunt, finding the most beautiful piece of yourself in the midst of different personalities trying to impose the best image of you. To break the ego's most cherished illusions needs our attention and decision so we can bring consciousness to it. Once we are fully aware of our insecurity we can then embrace it, clearly see it for what it truly is, heal it, and slowly build back our trust in Self, learning to shift perspectives.
This has helped me to be more loving and accepting of myself, trusting myself more. And in turn, it has helped me to love others more, one moment at a time.
